Attendance Management

Attendance that becomes data, not a stack of registers.

Attendance is marked per class and section, held against the student record, and can trigger an alert to the parent the same day — so absences are visible while they still matter.

The problem

Attendance registers are hard to summarise, and nobody notices a pattern until it has become a problem worth calling a parent about.

Student attendance

Marked by the class teacher, against the same student record everything else uses.

  • Daily marking by class and section
  • Present, absent, late, half day and excused statuses
  • Held per academic year alongside the student record
  • Absence alerts sent to the parent where messaging is enabled

Staff attendance

Tracked separately from students, with its own records.

  • Daily staff attendance records
  • Kept against the staff profile and department

Leave requests

Requests and approvals recorded rather than agreed verbally.

  • Casual, sick, earned and unpaid staff leave types
  • Pending, approved and rejected request status
  • Student leave requests handled alongside attendance

Outcome: Absences surface the same day, and attendance becomes something you can report on.

Attendance Management — common questions

Can parents be told when their child is absent?

Yes, where the school has enabled messaging. An absence alert is sent to the parent over WhatsApp or SMS using an approved template.

Does it handle half days and late arrivals?

Yes. Attendance can be marked as present, absent, late, half day or excused.

Is staff attendance separate from student attendance?

Yes. Staff attendance is recorded separately against the staff profile, with its own leave types and approval flow.
